What is Shop Crafty?
Shop Crafty is a family-friendly celebration of the handmade community from Austin and all
over the Nation.  It is a one-day festival featuring Studio Sponsors in our
Craft Lounge and
over 60 artists, crafters and designers from across the US. It is also a charity shopping event
with proceeds from ticket sales and the raffle benefiting
Crafting Comfort, an Austin-based
Charity Craft organization.

What is the day/time and where will the event take place?
Shop Crafty takes place Saturday, April 16, 2011, from 10am-5pm at The Marchesa,
6406 N. IH-35, Ste 3100, Austin TX, 78752.

What does my booth fee cover?
  •   A 6'x8' or 6'x10' foot open space
  •   2 hours of set-up time and 7 hours of show time
  •   1 - 2 chairs (no tables)
  •   Electricity
  •   A fully air conditioned environment, which is pleasant for the shopper and vendor alike
  •   Recognition on our website as a vendor
  •   Link to your website/blog/etsy shop
  •   Listing in the Shop Crafty event guide
  •   Advertising the event in local print publications, radio, blogs, and/or online, etc..
  •   Event postcards for your own advertising needs
  •   The event will be archived and available online, including all links to your website(s)
  •   Please note - TLSL does NOT take a portion of your sales.  Your sales for the day are 100% your own!

Are booth fees refundable?
No - booth payment is due in full on 2/20/2011. Once you make the final payment, it is non-refundable.

I don't see any mention of "split booths" - can we split?

Can I request my booth be placed next to a certain vendor?
Yes, you can request this and we will try to honor all requests, taking into account the overall layout of the show.

Who can apply?
Vendors with 100% handmade items in any category!  We also
have Studio Sponsor spots available for local studios or artists
showcasing crafting, sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, painting, art,
pottery, jewelry making, etc..
These Studio Sponsor Spots will feature demos and make & takes.

What are the application requirements?
A complete application, including 2 product pictures and 1 booth display, and the fully paid,
non-refundable application fee of $15.00.  
You also agree to bring ONE item for the charity raffle.

What does the application fee cover?
The $15.00 application fee* helps to cover all expenses associated with the event, such as
planning, hall rental, advertising, and the cost of covering the juried application process.  
All application fees will be paid via PayPal.**
*If accepted - your $15 fee will be credited to the cost of your booth!
What does a "juried application process" mean?
"Juried" means you must submit photos of your work for review by a knowledgeable jury, or committee of people.  
Acceptance to the event as a vendor is based on your work - the craftmanship, creativity, skill, etc.. in your area of work.  
This also ensures Shop Crafty will not have an excess of one type of vendor over another.

Why are vendors sometimes not accepted?
As with all shows, Shop Crafty has a limited number of spots and most shows always receive more applications than vendor
accommodations.  Vendor selection with all juried shows is a competitive process and there is usually no "one" reason why a
vendor may not be selected.
Reasons can be: not completing the application process fully and/or not following application
directions, the products submitted do not fit with the show, extremely high volume of applicants in one particular category,
vendors not changing or growing their product line from year to year, participating in a previous Lone Star Ladies event and
not being a welcoming or friendly vendor to shoppers or not actively advertising our event  etc...  Many times juried shows
also have a wait-list and it is always possible to be accepted from the wait-list as well.  If you have any concerns over our

What are the booth sizes and fees for Shop Crafty?
The booth sizes and fees are as follows:
  • 6 ft WIDE (Aisle side) x 8 ft DEEP - regular vendors - $175
  • 6 ft WIDE (Aisle side)  x 10 ft DEEP - PREMIUM vendors - $195
  • Booths will be located directly next to one another - all of your display and your
    body must fit within the booth.
All application fees will be paid via PayPal.**
Do you expect the vendors and sponsors to advertise the event?
YES - ACTIVELY!  We will make it as easy as possible for you to help advertise the event,
you can:

  •  Re-post/ Share our blog posts, tweets and Facebook updates
  •  Grab promotional banners from our site and download files of the postcards/posters
  •  Pick up copies of the event postcards/posters, etc..
  •  Use your two free tickets to have a contest!

We ENCOURAGE you to advertise the event to all your customers and anyone and everyone
you meet.  You can also link to our event from your website calendar, blog, etsy shop, website
and more.

  •  If every vendor for Shop Crafty had 2 shoppers attend = 120 shoppers
  •  If every vendor for Shop Crafty had 5 shoppers attend = 300 shoppers
  •  If every vendor for Shop Crafty had 10 shoppers attend = 600 shoppers!
  •  Positive, upbeat vendors are the key to a successful event!
Is there an entrance fee?
Yes.  Shop Crafty costs $5.00 at the door or BOGO (buy one, get one) online.  This fee helps cover the cost of producing
such a large event, and also raises money for our Charity -
Crafting Comfort.

Do vendors pay to get in, too?
No!  Vendors receive two passes (not tickets) for the day - one for you and one for a helper.

Do vendors get free tickets?
Yes!  Each vendor gets 2 free numbered tickets, which will be emailed to the vendor.  The ticket must be "in-hand" to be
redeemed by the shopper.

Is there easy load-in and load-out at The Marchesa and free parking?
Yes.  We have rental of the whole facility for the day and you will be able to load in/out to your particular part of the hall with
ease.  There is plenty of free parking for the entire day!  This is a giant plus to shoppers who have to pay to park at many
other facilities!
Are there goodie bags for Shop Crafty?
No, but don't worry!  We have something different planned for shoppers, and to get people
lining up!  It will be craftalicious!!

Can I Sponsor Shop Crafty as a Vendor?
All vendors sponsor the event by donating to the charity raffle, but the BEST additional way
to Sponsor Shop Crafty as a vendor is to ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE, ADVERTISE our event
on your blog, website, etsy page, email lists, etc..  We can advertise everywhere, but word of
mouth is always the BEST advertising for any event!  Not believing in Shop Crafty, not
advertising it and not promoting it only hurts you, the vendor(s)!

I know someone who wants to volunteer - what do they get for volunteering?
They get to be part of something special, AND they get to attend the event for free!
